THIRD MEADOW, SLOUGH CREEK, MONTANA

Photographed in early evening, during July, near the northern boundary of Yellowstone National Park — where Slough Creek flows south from the Beartooth Mountains. Direct sunlight illuminates the middle distance, while the foreground is shaded by the approaching storm cloud (to the right / west in scene). This stream has long been noted for its abundant native cutthroat trout.
