Photographed in late September from the Whitetail Creek drainage northwest of Big Timber, Montana. This compact, rugged range extends 50 miles between the Yellowstone and the Musselshell rivers – rising 6,000 feet above the great plains to the east. The highest peaks exceed 11,000 feet.
